Wake up!!! (A song about addictions, life,etc..however it speaks to you, sang by Layne Staley)

This is a video that I felt led to make about drug and alcohol addiction, and how there’s hope through Jesus Christ. I once was lost in addiction and while laying on my deathbed I turned my eyes to Jesus and have never been the same since….I have found life with true meaning, peace, joy, and lasting recovery with the best friend I have ever known…my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Remember….where there’s life there’s hope!!

    Great video. This song is so haunting because he keeps repeating that he knows whats wrong but that he just can’t seem to fix it – most addicts can relate to this. This is not just some stupid guy that decided to give up on life – this is a genius that suffered from addiction.

    Good video man, I am an addict and there is a world outside of drugs that we all must come in terms with good or bad. I always used drugs as a way to escape being hurt or fear and the paradox is drugs have caused me more harm than anything ever has.

    I found the CURE for addiction and I have proof for this claim. Click on my name and witness Powerful Stories of Freedom. I personally know and have witnessed over 100 addicts who have found True and Lasting FREEDOM after being enslaved by their addictions for so long. I have been through many programs for my addiction, but have never found so much Hope, Joy, Peace, and Love than I have in the program I am in now. And the people I know who have given their stories are experiencing the same!

    I agree..alcohol is a drug.

    I hate it when people separate alcohol from drugs-because alcohol IS a drug itself.

    @Bendrix27

    “Slow suicide’s no way to go” pretty much says it all in this song.

    Most of Layne’s songs were about his drug addiction. You weren’t old enough to understand the early 90′s and all the heroin flowing around everywhere from Seattle to LA to Texas. Just look up the “Texas Heroin Massacre”. It was the popular thing to do, and people were dying from it everyday. Layne knew he was also a dying man…and his own addiction was the reason.

    This song is definitely about Layne’s struggle with addiction.

    @TheJimmyNathan I remember when was feel totally lost in agony of heroin…sometimes I think that i shouldn’t never forgot where I was and where Jesus find me…People think that isn’t no way out from it…but I can testified that God is interesting for our lives and powerful. He turns sines into saints, crazy in wise..just like he turns my life…2 Samuel 22:17 He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters;…this is powerful video..God bless you! :-)

    Have you watched the video with an open mind, you would see its about ALL you described the song was about..some people just see what they want to see ONLY..ive probably been listening to this song before you were ever born, i don’t want to sound like a smart elic Christian but ive stored tons of bitterness n anger in my life for years, and when i got sick of being ALONE and having no understanding of why im here on this pathetic earth…(read more) in above comment

    seems like your really angry at God for some reason, and very immature in social skills. If this video can help someone then isn’t that better than what your doing trying to take your hurt out on everyone else?? Think about it, son.
