Ville: I’ve felt that my place and purpose is to be a sonic anthropologist who uses only himself as a guinea pig. Anyway, I write my diary with music, and talk about my own experiences, and put myself accidentally and sometimes on purpose, in situations that cannot necessarily be described as positive. That’s maybe the closest to the truth. But well, pain brings art to life.
Man: HIM has sold over 4,5 million records world wide. Thirty year old Valo admits that making music and art involves a lot of pain, and finding your own place in life is not simple.
I’ve never beaten women or been aggressive towards anybody except the occasional neighbour, and that’s not much. That’s life. Everybody screws up. You learn by sticking your fingers into a wall socket and seeing how it feels, and after that you’re not going to do it again. It’s unfortunate that it has happened, but I’m hardly the first performing artist to have been on stage while under the influence. I think, lets say, it’s a badge I wear with pride.
START:Woman:Ville Valo’s life changed drastically 3months ago, but he still doesn’t try to avoid screwing up. According to Valo, there’s even supposed to be a lot of pain involved in making music and art. Ville: Let’s just say that I’m not all that interested in what they write about me, it’s mum and dad who it bothers. But well, what the hell, if I’m only 30 and have been making music since I was 7, of course I’ve performed drunk, of course you have to test your own boundaries and screw up.
yeah…. im thinking about taking finnish classes cause im so tired of not knowing wat the crap he’s saying!!! XD
